Running, tumbling, and staggering, they try to stay on their feet. They cling to each other, to an edge, or to the hand of a spectator. Surrounded by the audience and bathed in mesmerizing live music, the performers attempt to find a new balance amidst the flying, sliding, falling, and catching. Should they strive for control? Or should they learn to wobble very well?
'SKRAM' is an ode to resilience and to the courage to wobble, to take risks, to fail, and to get back up again. The performance acknowledges a world of children and adults that is constantly changing, where daily balances are struck on the boundaries between wanting, needing, and being able. In this way, 'SKRAM' honors the resilience and agility of young children to adapt to new situations time and again, where surprising skills are discovered within themselves, as well as the beauty of failing, even for a moment.
